cool gold throwdown !

    Hey guys ! Let's see some pictures of cool gold coins. Here's an 1836 Classic Head $5... as always, grade opinions and comments of all sorts welcome.

    900fine, I absolutely LOVE your $5 Classic Head piece. Wanna trade? Here's mine. :cool: Anyways, the TPGs are notorious for overgrading these coins, so I would say NGC would give it a 58, and PCGS would give it a 55. I would give it a 53, and very VERY PQ at that. Great strike and very few marks. Perfect type example.

    Don't have any classic head gold, but I do have "bust" gold ;)

    By the way, the IHC i put there for scale, but I actually got that one in the first box of cents I ever tried to roll search :thumb:

    Here's my 1881 Liberty Head Eagle. I'd grade this in the XF-45 range.

    Original Dahlonega gold is really in a class by itself, I can only dream about owning one someday. I really like the Pan-Pac gold dollar, a great design and one that may be more within my reach.

    1857 $3 ! A home run hitter ! :hail:

    Nice pick; a somewhat better date. 85% less mintage than the 1854 prototype.
