Hey All, I don't know if you noticed or not but there appears to be much more on the Kennedy Half Dollar than a Double Strike and a Chain Strike and I hope that the ANACS Graders pick up on what I see from the pictures! If not and I am correct in my observation, then I would send the coin back to ANACS for a reassessment of the errors and complete attribution. I see that although the second strike overlaps the "D" Mint mark, the "D" still shows through real well. Also, it appears that there is "OD" of "IN GOD WE TRUST" on Kennedy's neck behind the chin on the original (first) strike. If this is the case, a lot more happened to the coin when it was struck and there may be even more errors visible under magnification. Frank
Glad you sent it on the 5 day...I thought maybe you sent them on the slow boat and that takes 3 months... Speedy
... It's in! And ANACS even put "chain strike" along with double strike on the description. So everything went as planned and I was wondering what you guys think I could get for it if I sold it say on ebay. Thanks for all your help guys.
I think earlier I mentioned a ballpark figure of $1000. I might hedge at this point and guesstimate somewhere between $700 and $1000.
Its the value for the 1 coin...the half dollar....after it was graded they have lowed that value a littel I think...more like $1,500-$1,700 if I remember right. Speedy
... EDITED. I'd like to thank all of you guys so much, if it wasn't for you it would just be stuck in a sleeve for all its life. Thank you! EDITED-- No Self Promotion....
