Hello ,im hoping to get a grade.ive compared it to coinsandcanada grading chart.wish my pictures were better.thanks for help.
Hey Man! I give it VF40 possibly a VF-45 . I also checked the photo grading @ Canadian Coin Photo Grading Guide - George V (saskatooncoinclub.ca)
Can I recommend a great program ( simple to use) . It's called LunaPic and it's FREE and NO download . That or Photoscape ( also free and simple ) DOWNLOAD . This will help you crop and enlarge among other things . Peace .
One of the key grading areas for Geo coinage is the vertical jewels on his crown. You have photo glare there so you can't see how many jewels show wear. Just from the shoulder and crown band, I'd say VF20, maybe a little better. Here's some help: http://web.archive.org/web/20140220174534/http://www.coinoisseur.com/GradingCoins.html http://www.saskatooncoinclub.ca/articles/12_grading_canadian_coins.html
Nice! 1925 is one of the harder dates to find for Canadian nickels. Let me know if you'd like to trade it.
Being relatively close to the border, I would see a fair number of Canadian Nickels in change or CRH. I started to collect them but got to the point that finding the older ones would be more difficult...especially the 1925. I was able to hook up with a fellow collector on the other side and worked to fill the gaps while filling a number of his with Jefferson Nickels. It worked out wonderfully!!
40 and 45 are not VF grades. That coin while desirable is not XF 40 or XF 45. VF 30-35 is where I am.
I always hesitate to apply our 1-70 scale to world coinage; doesn't seem to translate consistently, at least based on slabs I've reviewed from the major TPGS.
This is one of 4 I purchased all raw.no stabbed coins in my collection. I'm excited that the grades I did receive from the members here.thanks for looking have great day.
