About 5 years ago I had bought this coin from a flea market for about $15. I have no idea where it has originated from. It has a four digit number in the center of it that says 1199. I don't know if that is the year or what, so someone please help me out here. And if you know an estimated price on it, that would be great too. Thanks for all the comments.
It is a 1 pysa from Zanzibar, dated AH 1299 (1881 AD). Someone else might be able to help you with the value.

My 2009 Krause catalog lists it at $5 for F(fine) details. The coin's reverse is damaged too. $15 for this is a total rip off.
I'm really bummed now. I thought for sure it would be a much more valuable coin. Dang. Well thanks anyways!
You've discovered the basis for the aphorism "Buy the book before the coin!" At least it was an inexpensive lesson.
