Ok, I have 5 different 1970 s pennies and I just can't seem to tell if any are the small date, I looked at pictures and maybe it's just me but can anyone take a look see and give me your opinions? Hopefully the picture will help. I put all 5 pennies together in 1 pic. Thanks everyone!

Hi, it is hard for me to tell with the enlarged photo as the difference is slight. They all appear to be large dates, but I go by (1) whether the bottom of the "7" extends below the bottom of the "1", and (2) Whether the "7" has a crease in it where the horizontal joins the vertical arm and (3) whether the inside curl of the "9" points towards the top of the "S" rather than the middle of the "7" . These are all signs of the Large date.

Once you are use to seeing them, it is easy to distinguish. From photos you need really closeups of the date ( at least I do). here is an excellent page to help you.

Thanks Jim! Great Link. I will check it out more and if I feel one of them may be a small date, I will resubmit just that coin here to the forum.
