Here is how this could happen, and it does. I know personally it happens.

The dating on the roll itself, may have been written by it's previous owner.
I'll agree, to use the phrase "totally unsearched" is poor language.

Now I would suspect from the comments here, that most , if not all had never conducted business with this seller, are unjustified without having first hand business experience with this seller. I do not know them, have never made a purchase from them. Unless I can factually make an accusation, I refrain from doing so. I reviewed some of the feedback left from previous buyers and most seemed to be pleased with their purchases. That , as we all know, can be terribly misrepresenting the facts. But without first hand experience with the seller, don't you feel your comments and suggestions might seem a little harsh?

P.S. As some of you know, I'm not a big fan of ebay, but there are a few honest sellers from time to time.

It looks as if about 2% of those that left feedback were not happy.

I would suggest that is below average. I did not read all the negative feedbacks, nor do we have the sellers side of the story, or how the buyer complaint was resolved by the seller. I'm just of the opinion that some of the ridicule presented here, is unjustified. IMHO

I just can not imagine anyone on ebay being dishonest. I've always thought of ebay as the place for all truthfull, honest, sincere individuals. I'm sure if he stated he did not SEARCH those coins, he didn't. He may have looked at them, checked them, viewed them, but he did not search them if he so states.;):D

Like someone previously said, I have a problem with the word "unsearched". To me it is akin to using "Fresh Paint!!!" as the primary or sole descriptor for a recently wrecked car. I can buy a car from the body shop that was totaled two weeks ago that now looks new - that doesn’t make it a new car though... And, when you add that to significant negative feedback (and yes, I consider 2% significant) I feel like this seller is misleading at best. Personally, I think that eBay should impose serious limitations on sellers who have excessive negative feedback. I know they have some loose policies now, but, I don’t think they are enforced nor do I believe they are sufficient.

But, for those that want to gamble – have at it! And, if you want to buy some “unsearched” wheat’s for $25 a roll and you can’t find them elsewhere, I can see if my wife would sell you some of my coins that she hasn’t searched.
    :D

Well, allow me to ask you this. If you are a seller or have been a seller, would you do so knowingly operate your sale at a "LOSS" ? I would venture to say, "NOT" ! At the sale price listed, that probably amounts to about an 800% profit on the sellers original investment. Not a bad profit margin if I do say so myself. For twenty five dollars, I would by a roll just to satisfy my own curiosity. If perhaps you came upon 1 or two decent varieties, that pays for the cost fronted. It's like buying a bag of foreign coins or tokens from a private individual or dealer...you never know.

I was probably not fair when I posted 2%. It's actually .6% for Negs and 1% Neutrals.
If he would stop using the unsearched word he would probably do much better.
