Interesting! Fortunately the current coins from Mozambique - and the previous pieces, from the mid-1990s - do not have such martial symbols any more. (Do you actually call such Soviet vehicles "panzer tanks" in English? Sounds a bit like "auto car" to me ...) As for the CoA, yes, the present one still has the rifle - or rather a combination of a gun (defense), a hoe (agriculture) and a book (education). Used to be the symbols of the communist liberation movement, and are still used even though the country has had a more or less democratic system (and been a Commonwealth member) since the early/mid 90s.
