I like to say that I have a complete set of Denver minted Morgans, because they were only made in Denver in 1921.

The key, of course, is how one defines "complete". For me, this thread boils down to a one-year type. The word "type" itself is open to personal interpretation.

    1796 $2.5 no stars
    1808 $2.5
MCMVII (why say more ? :D)

I've heard that the 1921 High Relief peace dollars were the only high reliefs, BUT, according to the redbook, 35,401 peace dollars in 1922 were high relief.
    Can somebody explain this?

Until just recently it was thought that all of the 1922 "high relief" coins had been melted down. But there is now a single specimen known. (This does not include the 1922 high relief proofs.) The question is, Are there any more?

Here's another way to spin it : die variety collectors. Die varieties are collected by year.
