I have 3 coins I believe to be "Ancient" but I have no idea what they are or where they may have come from or for that matter, what timeframe?!! All I have to take pics is a smart phone so the pics aren't great but maybe someone here has knowledge and could maybe give me some info on them.

I think the 1st pic is upside down. Tried to fix that but.....
    2nd coin is next:

    And Coin #3

I guess I'm going to have to see if my Coin Microscope will work with these. Photos are worse than I thought! But maybe someone can recognize them, Thanks for any help!

They're definitely ancient but I couldn't tell you anything more

The top is a tetradrachm from Alexandria. If you can take a clearer picture, I can read the inscription and give you the ruler too.

    Middle coin - I don't recognize.

Last coin is a Late Roman Bronze. Again, clearer pictures should be able to help read the legends.

I only have an iphone 6 and am able to take decent pictures. Try putting your coin on a flat surface and then something maybe 4-6 inches higher (like a cup) to lay your phone on. Then snap the picture. Don't use the zoom. You can crop after you have the picture taken.

These were taken in that manner:

The first one is a latter third century tetradrachm of Alexandria. Could be Claudius II, Aurelian, Probus, Carus, Carinus, Numerian, or Diocletian I believe. Can't read the legend or I would be able to tell based on that.

You might be able to try a paper rubbing, dattari-savio uses that method and it might allow more contrast, being pencil on white paper.

Based on letter spacing the third appears to be Constans

The first, the Alexandrian net, might by Diocletian's contemporary Maximianus - I think I see maximianus sev in Greek but might be wrong.

The third is a VICTORIAE DD AVGG Q NN reverse, with almost certainly Constans (not Constantius II) obverse. Can't read the mint mark. This would date to 341/2 to 348 AD.

Third coin seems to be one of these:

But a different issue, and possibly mint. No HR monogram and mint mark ends of a gamma.

There’s an S in the mm so I’m thinking either Thessalonica or Siscia

Wow! Thanks to all for the info. I think I am going to invest in an actual camera for coin pics. I have a whole 3 ring binder of different coins with "issues". Possible errors. And some I don't recognize and haven't been able to identify. Mostly US coins but some from other Countries. I went to a DoD High School in Spain when my Dad was stationed there in the 70's. I had some Peseta's that I had saved from when I lived there and I went through them a few weeks back and found several that were Silver! My Wife just doesn't understand this coin collecting thing! She thinks I spend too much time doing this. But it is absolutely FUN!!!

Neat, can you post those pesetas? Old Spanish coins are often really well designed and quite lovely
