Look at the pictures http://cgi.ebay.com/1878-P-MORGAN-S...trkparms=65:12|66:2|39:1|72:1240|293:1|294:50
Pretty lousy pic of the reverse, and it would not enlarge. I didn't take the time to copy and paste it into another program to look at it closely. I see a seller with a 100% feedback, with what appears to be absolutely no knowledge or experience with coins. Didn't fall for the "found it in Grandma's attic" line. Seller does do a pretty good "act dumb" routine though.
The better pic is borrowed and the other is probably an actual pic of the coin being sold. :goof: I can't believe it sold for as much as it did, given the condition of the coin is unknown. :goofer: What a true crapshoot! Ribbit
I think the reverse is the picture of that coin, and the obverse is a borrowed picture like Toad suggested. I am shocked it sold for almost $70! I don't know, I am thinking that this person might actually know next to nothing about coins, and they think that they are all the same and valued the same regardless of condition. Or it could just be that this is one tricky seller, that wants to scam people... (It is always so hard to tell) LOL I think somebody should ask the seller a question, about SOMETHING, anything really, ask why the pics don't add up, why one picture is tiny or ask how come they've seen that 1878 obverse before! EDIT: Went to seller's profile, no more coins for sale, and no coin history in his feedback. I don't know about this one, I think we wait and watch for the negative feedback!
This one is rather "odd" and misleading as well http://cgi.ebay.com/1900-Morgan-Sil....c0.m14&_trkparms=65:1|66:2|39:1|293:2|294:50
The obverse image looks like a Heritage image. I wrote to the seller and let him know he shouldn't be using images of coins that he doesn't own.
