Okay, here's my recent purchases. Since there are 4, I'll do them as links. These two are for filling the latest dates in my type set: 1951-D Lincoln 1938-S Jefferson This coin is the latest addition to my Capped Bust half dime set: 1831 Half Dime And finally this coin is part of my keys/semi-keys collection. Note the gash on the cheek; that's what earned it only a MS-62. 1864 L Indian Head Cent
Beautiful coins Kanga, then again your photography really brings out the best in any coin. I especially like that IHC, a really great find. Congrats. :smile
Those are some great coins! What type of digital camera are you using? The reason I ask is I'm trying to learn to post pics of my own coins, Thanks, Pat
I'm using a Nikon D90 with a Nikkor Micro 60mm lens ("Micro" is their term for "Macro"). It's a digital SLR. The camera is too expensive unless you are going to take a LOT of pictures, particularly for selling coins. Plus I use it for vacation pictures.
Great Indian Head. The gash on the cheek is not that prominent based on the photo. Great color for a BN and good strike. Enjoy it.
In hand it would be easy to miss. Even under 3x it doesn't look all that bad. But it's on the cheek and the graders with their good lighting, practiced eye and 5x magnification are going to pick right up on it. Place the gash in the bonnet and I've probably got a 63.
I love the crust on the half dime! Very nice! I like the look of the IHC, too. They are very in demand, finding a nice one at a reasonable price requires patience.
I like the 1/2 dime a lot. But there seems to be something wrong with the motto "In God we Trust" on the Jefferson. Traci
