Hey, I'm thinking about buying some BU 2009 Lincoln Cents to find high grade examples that I can send to NGC or PCGS for grading.

What's the best way for me to do that?

buy already slabbed examples. You'll spend less in the long run.

If the sport of the hunt is what thrills you, then get a LOT of rolls, but be prepared for grades that may be less than what you expect when you submit them.

Please don't bother, study coins and the history of them. There are very beautiful coins out there that will profit you now and in the long run alot better then the modern Lincoln cent

I searched through 6 rolls of Philly mint and only found 1 MS67 lincoln.

You would save more money if you just bought them already graded on eBay.
You can pick up a set of P&D for less than it would cost just to get them graded.

I used to run around bank to bank spot checking what they had and then get a bag when I saw something good. It worked reasonably well and reduced the heavy lifting.

It is not worth it. These moderns are somewhat harder to grade, and the flaws between the 66 and 67 can be mind numbing.
When we say "A LOT OF ROLLS" we mean A LOT! Not 10 or 20, more like 100 or more.
There is almost no chance of finding a 67 of lets say going through 2 rolls.
I suggest buying pre graded cents, it will save you time and money.
    Best of luck to you

I'm starting to see a whole lot of formative years' cents in circulation. I've gotten 8 of them in the last week and they were the first 2009 coins that I've seen in circulation. What's the deal?

.......it may be reckless sending in rolls and rolls to try and get one graded in high mint state when it is much more economical to buy one already slabbed. if that's what you are hoping for. just a little constructive criticism, please don't take offense.
