Hey all, I am pretty sure that I have found two new Doubled Die Reverse Variety Lincoln Cents that are not listed in the "CherryPicker's Guide to Rare Die Varieties" or on Coneca's Website! One is is 1953-P and the other is a 1955-P and they both have almost identical Doubled Die Doubling on "E PLURIBUS UNUM" on the Wheat Stalks & Stems and a few of the letters in ONE CENT. This is real doubling and not the extra thickness on "E PLURIBUS UNUM" which is found on the 1955-P DDR-001. Has anyone heard of any other similar 1953-P and 1955-P Doubled Die Reverse Cents being discovered? I wish that these two were in Mint State but any new finds of Doubled Die Wheat Cents that are in Mint State, are few and far between! Frank
I forgot to mention that I also found a new unlisted 1929-P Doubled Die Obverse Lincoln Cent with strong doubling only on the Date! The coin has really been abused and if there is any other doubling on the coin, it may or has been obliterated. Frank
I sent an email to Ken Potter about the finds and I am sure that he will advise me of what to do next! Thanks all...Frank
