I just looked at the 25 quarters currently residing in the wife's piggy bank, and found this breakdown:
    • Eagle reverse - 10 (40%) including 4 D, 3P, 3 unmarked 1965
    • Bi-Centennials - 2 (8%) both D
    • State quarters - 13 (52%) 10 D, 3P, no duplicates
    • DC/Territory quarters - 0 (0%).

The Ps were 27% of the marked coins, a relatively high number considering that these were all taken from circulation in Southern California.

I was also mildly surprised at the complete absence of 2009 coins more than halfway through the year.

What's the breakdown in other parts of the country?

I'm surprised you had 2 bi-centennials in there. I know everyone seems to think they're common based on mintages, but considering how many were squirreled away, they're not too common in change, at least not for me. I probably get one every 2-3 years on average. Nice unscientific research.

That was my first thought as well, I have not seen a 1976 in a long time

Lately I've been noticing an increasing number of early statehood (1999-2002) quarters in my neck o' the woods....

Be nice if the Bi-centenials had an S mint mark on them.

The little mess kitty at work it seems to run about the same - 60% state quarters - 40% eagle reverse. I usually see at least one bi-centennial every so ofter. Needless to say I search the bills and change - I also buy all the pennies that people put in. I see DC quarters, but most of them seem to be D's.

I travel all over the country..being a trucker...I get 1, maybe 2 76's a month...and yes..I squirrel them away with the rest I have. Doesn't seem to be relative to where I am. I get all the state 25c'ers in all states I go to.

Yep, me too. I don't roll search quarters, ever, but I seem to average about 2 bi-cent .25¢ coins per month. I collect them one by one, roll them and sell them quite profitably on eBay when I have 2 or 4 rolls to unload in small lots. They are just circ. condition but always sell.
