I bought another batch of world coins from the old time collection. This time, I purchased only a few of the better Canadian coins. Included in this batch is the low mintage 1885 Newfoundland 10 cent coin which I posted earlier. This has a mintage of only 8,000 coins and I officially own it now :smile. I also bought his 1858 Canada 20 cent coin and a nice 1935 Canada dollar. The 20 cent coin is a one-year type coin from Canada. In the 19th Century Canadian money was basically in sync with the USA money. It traded 1:1 with American money especially near the border. In 1858, the USA quarter dollar denomination was popular. Therefore, Canada elected to continue using a quarter dollar and discontinued the use of their 20-cent piece after only one year. The old time collection also has an 1895 or 98 Canada cent which looked to be MS and red-brown. I hope to purchase this lusterous cent next time. Thanks for letting me share. Very best regards, collect89
Hello Art, The 20 cent piece is super original. It was sent to NGC today. I'm hoping that they bump up the grade for the "Grandma Factor". It looks like it was taken directly out of Great-Grandma's coin jar. Very best regards, collect89
WOW! I love this collection you are buying! How can anyone be this lucky? The twenty is awesome, I have always wanted one, just haven't found the right one yet. Good luck on the submission!
The guy has a couple thousand Canadian coins & these are three of the nicest ones I found. I am trying to convince the guy to scan all of them & begin selling them globally but he is dragging his feet. In the mean time, I will just continue visiting & buying the nice ones. Lucky me.
