These are coins that my grandma has. . . She's had them since she was a child I believe. Can someone tell me what they are, and if they're even worth anything. . . I think they're around the late 1800s-1900s, I don't know. Thanks a lot!
Howdy Tankot - Welcome to the Forum !! I believe you have a mixture there of coins ranging from 10 centavos to 1 peso. The coins should have dates on them which would help identify them and help determine any value they may have. Can you post larger pics of the individual coins ?
Hmm ok. . . However this is the only picture I have from the camera. . . I'll have to pull some out from the camcorder. . . Give me a few to find them. . .
Ok, here are some of the pictures I have here. . . I think I have some info on this, like the year. . . it's obvious to tell. . . But I still need to know more info on this. . . Here is the back and fronts of each coin. . . 1899 1907 1908 1908
More. . . 1907 1875 1899 Ok, by what my family's been telling me, these are worth something. . . But personally I want to find out here how much these really are worth. . . Hope you can help me out. . .
Oh yeah, I kinda read the thing about the holding the coins by their edges. . . Too bad I didn't get a hold of this forum before I left for Philippines, much less know about possession of these coins. . . Heh.
The coins are well worn, the best would grade VF in my opinion. As listed in the Krause catalog the 1907 & 1908 1 peso and 50 centavo coins are worth about $2.50 to $5 each. The 1875 and 1899 coins are from Mexico. The 1875 id an 8 reales minted at Zacatecas - worth about $10. The 1899 is a 1 peso also worth about $10.
Hmm ok. . . I have more to show. . . But I'll show them tomorrow cuz it's really late. . . Good night
