I have had this coin for a long time from what I can tell it's a 1949 Lincoln cent that someone told me it might be a uniface. Anyone have an opinion? Thanks RockyPa
My first impression, is that it is likely polished down on that side. I say that, because it looks like I can see a faint impression of Lincoln showing through, as well as the fact that the rim doesnt seem to be upset (raised) on this side. Not to mention the fact that the surface "looks" like cleaned copper. Now if you could answer a couple of questions, some of the folks here might be able to help you more. Is it thinner than a normal coin? Is it lighter in weight than a normal coin? (should weigh approximately 3.11 g.) Can you post a picture of the other side?
Without seeing the coin in person, it will be very difficult to give an educated opinion. Based on the photo, I would have to agree with Jody. Looks as if this coin has received some hard polishing.
