Remember the 4th....... When you spend some of your hard earned money today take a good hard look at your nickels.............Thomas Jefferson passed away on the 4th of July in 1826 as did John Adams, that's right both our secon and third presidents died on the 4th of July. Thomas Jefferson (April 13, 1743 – July 4, 1826)[1] was the third President of the United States (1801–1809), the principal author of the Declaration of Independence (1776), and one of the most influential Founding Fathers for his promotion of the ideals of republicanism in the United States. Major events during his presidency include the Louisiana Purchase (1803) and the Lewis and Clark Expedition (1804–1806). John Adams (October 30, 1735 – July 4, 1826) was an American politician and the second President of the United States (1797–1801), after being the first Vice President (1789–1797) for two terms. He is regarded as one of the most influential Founding Fathers of the United States.

Happy Indpendence Day. Our nation's freedom was earned through the sacrifice of those that came before us. Here is an interesting link that details the cost of freedom. http://www.americanfamilytraditions.com/war_casualties.htm The Revolutionary Way saw 217,000 in armed service, with approximately 5% wounded or killed in action.
HAPPY 4TH EVERYONE!!! As I look at my coins I know I'll appreciate them a little more today. The subjects of a lot of them tie in directly to this holiday.
They were also the only two men who signed the Declaration of Independence to go on to become President of The United States of America. The Declaration of Independence was given final approval on July 4th, 1776, but it was not until August 2nd that most of the delegates actually signed it.
When I was a kid, of course Christmas would have probably been my favorite holiday. But as an adult, the 4th of July is number one in my book. What a brave man John Hancock was. He was the first man to put his name on what was considered a treasonous document.
happy birthday america may this coutry remain blessed with the freedoms so many other countries can only wish for.
