this coin was made in the year 2000 and i received it in change while in europe. i know it was either a commerative coin made for the world cup, or a very rare coin made for the world cup. i have heard two different views (that there were only 10 of these coins ever minted and the other view being that there were hundreds of thousands minter). sorry if this is a dumb question. i am just curious if i stumbled onto something valuable.

Nah, its worth more than a 'few dollars' in europe.,,being the football mad place that is is. a 1996 England £2 coin commeorating EURO 96...minted millions of them...yet you can still see circulated ones go for around $30 on ebay. I would say about $10 in UC condition...other than that..a few dollars.
