Here's a phlippino 1 centavos 1944 S which i believe is a obverse die clash.and is it an inverted MM? I just want other opinions on the coin to see what you think it is. The coin is in MS60 condition. Thanks Joe
It looks like the shield clashed with it just like you said. You said 50 centavos an it says one. And maybe the "S" MM is upside down, I don't know.
JC: In order: 1) Yes, die clash, but not a recent one. 2) Yes, inverted MM. Note: NOT A FOREIGN COIN! It is from the US. [unless you are outside the States.] The Phillipines were a US territory form the Spanish American war (1898) to their independence after WWII.
Treas do you know the value on this coin since it has two major errors on it, and I think it;s in Ms 62 or better. I am not that familier with the grading system on these ,and the value i do know how to grade canadians but not these. Were would I get info on these particular errors on this coin and a grading system Thanks Joe
I think as a normal version the Whitman has it @ $1.50 to $3.50. I wouldn't know what the error would be worth, but maybe he does.
The inverted MM is very rare there's only serveral out there the clash mark who knows the rareity rating scale on this coin I;m not famlier with there's two errors on this coin, and the coin is in nice condition which will bring the value up more There's not that much info on this coin but they are getting very popular over the years ,without errors on the coins , the coins design is very interesting a really nice looking coin ,and it's a United States coin thet even makes it more valuable. Great find!! Joe you may have found a new unknown type of Die clash 1944-S Centavo , I am pretty sure the inverted S is known. :thumb: I will find my books and look it up if there a known clash that matches your photos. *I would sent the photos to John Wexler or Ken Potter they know more about clashes than I do.
I really do like those Philippine, Mexican, and Cuban coins. I have a couple Mexican and Cubans, but would like to find some of these. Very nice JC:hail:
