hello its me again. the rookie. here are 4 different coins that i think have errors what do you think? 1983 lincoln memorial Penny Errors: Column Broken, Raised Line From memorial to the "D" in United States, Abe is missing, Miss-stamed FG signature with line going toward edge of coin. 2000 Wide AM. Double Date 1972 1955 Double "I" in Liberty and odd "L" and Double 55 date.
1 looks like a common die crack 2 looks like it was struck through some grease or something 3 definitely looks like a wide AM. post pics of the whole Reverse and obverse as well. The FG is in a different place on the wide AMs so will need to see that as well to verify. 4 - 6 I'll defer on those...
The last two look like die deterioration doubling, not worth a premium. The first two are die cracks, not worth a premium but kinda cool. The 1972 I can't tell what's going on with the date, pictures aren't good enough.
I am curious about your '72. I have quite a worn one I found in circulation, similar to yours where its the date that shows the doubling, and there is a slightly heavier rim as well. I posted pics of mine in a Lincolns thread recently but haven't really determined if this coin falls into the '72s that carry any premium, even though mine is very worn. What do you think? Anything? It's very hard to picture this but the dates DO appear doubled to the naked eye and magnified under a lupe. Here's the link to mine: http://www.cointalk.com/forum/showpost.php?p=628306&postcount=851
#1 die crack #2 die crack #3 2000 Wide AM #4 Machine doubling damage #5 & 6 die deterioration doubling.
Yorkie, the wide AM is the only one worth a premium. I don't know what grade it is, but in MS64, it looks like its about $30-$40.
1) Die crack 2) Die Crack 3) wide Am 4) need clearer, could be one of the dozen or so DDO's. 5) See Condor, above.
id like to thank everyone for there help. sure is fun finding even the smallest errors thanks again bill
