I don't know if it can be considered a palindrome note since it's a lower serial number, but figured I'd give it a shot here. How much does a note like this sell for? If you need another pic, just ask. It's in fairly good condition, I couldn't see any definite creases or folds, just minor wear.
04013104 To be a palindrome (aka radar) wouldn't the first and last two digits have to be reversed, not the same? And the middle 2 pairs of digits would have to also be reversed.
I'm pretty sure palindrome just means it reads same from both directions, and I know it's justified by one zero. edit: woops misunderstood, i meant to say that by excluding the 0 (justifying the serial to the right like on MS Word or scantrons) it's a palindrome. Not sure if that counts, but it's real damn close!
Reading the first 4 digits of the serial number on your note from each end I get: 0401 and 4013. They each have a zero, a one and a four but in different orders. The first four digits include another one. The second four digits include a three. Sorry, but that is not a radar (aka palandrome). Not even close. Keep looking.
He has a partial radar note. "04013104" if you exclude the first "0" you can read it as "4013104" I say it's worth about $3.
a radar ONLY reads the same back and front as Hobo describes. Anythign else is just a cool serial, nothign more. you can find thousands of notes like this on ebay by sellers wishing to sell a buck for more then its actually worth. the notes is worth a buck, nothign more.
Yup, worth a dollar I'd say. I've come across quite a few near-repeaters and near radars, unfortunately it has to be the real deal to be worth any premium.
Let him put it on ebay and find out. I once sold a $5 note with an "unusual" serial number for $20! I can't remember what it was but it wasn't radar. It had several 0's and only 3 different numbers including the 0s. You can sell any "unusual" number. Just state in the auction description why that number is "unusual" and explain!
Hobo read the number wrong. It could be considered a 7 digit palindrome. An 8 digit one would be more desireable. Preceding zeros are really just fillers. Even if it was 00001221 it would still be a palindrome note to some collectors. However, if it was something like 00122100, that could also be considered a palindrome. Stick it on ebay and if you make more than a couple bucks, consider yourself a winner.
