SAME FAMILY MEMBER ALSO GAVE ME THIS COIN.can i hear the price on this? thanks againnnnn...the pictures you are looking at are my actual coin scanned.
well....i was looking up this coin and i saw pictures of the counterfeit coin...IT LOOKS NOTHING LIKE MINE.not even close....on the counterfeit coin the lady looks like a man...and their are less stars!!??i also saw a picture of the real coin and it looks the SAME...BUT THEN im no expert so wow...thats just too bad, i guess.
This coin has been counterfeited countless times by different people...so there are many different counterfeit looks. One example that shows this is a counterfeit is the rim. Coins from this era weren't stuck with a collar so there shouldn't be a pronounced rim. This coin has an obvious rim. Here is an authentic example I found online. Notice how there really isn't a defined rim outside of the denticles.
There are numerous counterfeits, and they aren't all going to look the same. What you need to be comparing any coins to are genuine examples. Noticing the differences between the genuine and fake coins is far more productive. And yes, this is a fake. A really bad fake, too.
