Several things I would save for, if I ever give myself long enough:

-A nice common PMG certified VF $1,000 bill.
-An early capped bust $5 gold coin in XF.

I've been saving up for a 1921-D Walker. The saving hasn't been going well this month so I might just have to get the 1921 with no mint mark. Still not a cheap coin.

I'm not saving so much as selling. Mostly duplicates, but some nice first-stringers as well. Some big shows / auctions coming up in August and September.

A nice VG should become available.

The strange part of this date is the it starts very high, and the increases for grades is not that great.

    Good luck.

The one I will end up with will probably be around a PO2, since the one pictured above is a 6 digit coin. :goofer: But even a PO2 will set me back quite a bit. :hammer:

    Ribbit :)

The 09-svdb , 22 plain , 55 dbl die . If there is one thing I want to do before I die is complete the lincolns. Also to complete the Buffs would be nice. Might as well throw in the 13-s II in to this list also.

What should I pay for a decent slabbed unc?

I have an almost complete Lincoln collection to date in all reds and rb's. I've been looking at 14d's and 09s vdb's in MS 63 rb and it's going to be a while before I am comfortable paying those prices.

Pjh completing a Lincoln collection in all MS is an attainable goal, I am only 26 and have a nearly complete collection, minus a couple keys because I only have MS 63 or better coins and can't swing a 1909 S VDB in MS 63 rb right now, otherwise i'll be eating that penny instead of food. :eat:. Good Luck.

    1892 O:
    G-4 =$300
    VG= $425

    AU-50 = $700
    MS-63 $1700

Which is only $800 more than an MS-60.

What coin am I saving up for ? The next great one which really POPS.

I have a fairly open notion of what I'm looking for, issue-wise. Yes, I have some specialized areas which I frequent. But I'm far less interested in "filling a hole" and far more interested in a truly great coin.

That said, I'll be at the Dan Holmes auction of Early Date Large Cents in September. That should be eye-opening !
