    Where's the mintmark over the dome? A 1945-S should be a war nickel. A fake, perhaps?

    I am pretty sure that it is a 46S.

    @Collecting Nut You might get a better picture if you increased the focal length. Especially on 1946 Jeffersons that tend to be less crisp than other years. Finding a great specimen, from the Philly mint especially, has been more difficult for me over the years.

    For some reason the photo in my phone file looks a little better than when it's posted on CT. I just figure it's my poor lighting and tired shaking hands.
