Apologies for a basic question. I have an antique medal (rare) and while I received it from seller in a paper envelope, I would like to apply proper protection to it. Material is silver, possibly inside the medal there is copper. Having read some articles online on potential damages of wrong storage, I would like to invest in proper archival/museum level storage for the medal where it also could be viewed, while not in contact with anything that can affect it. Appreciate all suggestions!
Bearing in mind that moisture is your biggest enemy, strive for a storage method that will mitigate moisture. Food storage type bag inside a Tupperware type box with some desiccant maybe? Something along those lines.
Hmmmm....would one of those little packets of silica gel you often find in various packaging work for your desiccant?
Why do you think I have to be a cheapskate? So I can tend to her lavish needs.......... Lord I hope she doesn’t read CT...
