I am doing a crossword puzzle and if anyone can help, I would really appreciate it.

    The clues I have are:
    NAR-VELI

I cannot find the answer on the net

    Many thanks

Is it a cross words devoted to coins?

    Hi John

It is not a dedicated coin crossword. as I browsing looking for the answer I saw your forum. I thought this would be the logical spot to receive the answer.

    Many thanks

So if I understand you correctly, the line merely says - Ancient Spanish coin and the crossing letters you already have are NER and VELI. Is that correct ?

And are you certain that those letters are correct ? In others, there is no way you made a mistake with the other words ?

The reason I question this is because there was a coin know as the - noven de vellon (9 dineros) - issued from 1312 to 1350. But I know of no other Spanish coin where the name even comes close to what you have.

I considered that, and it would work depending on what letters are wrong.

I would suggest that it could be something from one of the Celtic tribes, but I doubt a crossword puzzle would go so far.

    Wow!!!

You are absolutely right. I know now that I made a mistake with the N, which should be an M..

I thank you all so much.

    MAREVEDI must be the answer.

    Kind regards

    Linda
