Okay, I know this isn't a coin but I thought it was pretty neat. My kids are all grown and don't show any interest in such historical items, their loss. Just sharing as it is from the Philadelphia Centennial of 1876, old freaking hat, after all it's over 144 years old! Just in case anyone is interested in buying a hat! Anyone? https://www.ebay.com/itm/Antique-18...404719?hash=item4229e0436f:g:HFsAAOSwRHxgGZ6H
The hat is cool, and it is in amazing condition but I still prefer the medal. It is 76mm in diameter and 9mm thick.
I picked up this wooden medal at a local coin show a few years ago. I think it is the only thing I have from the exhibition.
I have seen these before always wanted one, steam pressed into a round wood slab for the exhibit very cool. You can find them on ebay....a very nice souvenir of a time past.
Yeah, it's amazing to see all the great Medals and Tokens minted from that time period. Here's one of mine, as you can see it's a spinner Token!
Yep, it's listed as a parade hat, very cool if you know a child who would wear it. The price is up to $23.50, you think it'll sell for $30, time will tell!
It is in amazing condition given that it was a child's hat. Someone took very good care of it from that time on.
That wooden medal was from a set. Here is a complete one. My box is in bad shape. My grandmother had a really nice one, but I didn't end up with it. Here is the picture on the inside of the lid, a bird eye's view of the fair. That hat is really neat, but I try to say away from too many 3-D things. The house is too cluttered as it is.
