looks like they screwed up AGAIN!

the sight is unreachable, and the phones are jammed.

Looks like my borther won't be getting his christmas present.

 

They are TOTAL MORONS. They can't handle the traffic when they launch 1 product, and they are launching two high-demand products at once...

What a joke. The Marine Corps Medal is already backordered until October.

 

Fine print reads this is only pre-sale ordering which continues through Aug 22.

And they have the audacity to call it a "launch", more like a scuttling.

 

man, their server is getting hammered. It took me 35 minutes to place my order.

 

Took me 25 minutes just to log in....still trying to order

 

The technology industry has this sort of launch all the time.

"ATI Technologies is excited to announce the launch of the ATI Radeon X850XT graphics card. We expect the new video cards to become available in volume in approximately 2-3 months"

 

I finally got my order in and a confirmation, I ordered two of the coin and stamp sets, I really need them for my brothers christmas present...

I was able to get thru on the phone. Rather than press 1 to place an order, press 2 to inquire about an existing order. They took my order as I had a backorder irem as well.

They verified that the web site is down.

Going to be a lot of pi--ed off ebay buyers who pre-bought these expecting them to ship today!! On the other side, I'd hate to be a ebay seller who promised delivery today on their pre-sale auctions!!

 

And there is at least one of those that I saw. I don't know what he could have been thinking.

 

Mint is a joke

It is the most pathetic mess that I think I've seen in some time. Their phone service has been overwhelmed since 12 noon. You push the 1 key to place and order, and you get the message "This call may be monitored for quality assurance." Then they can't take your phone call. Youn then hear, "Call back later." I've tried since noon, and still they don't answer their phones. What is later?

I haven't even tried the server, as it is usually trashed when they offer a new product. I just hope the same fed gov't morons keeping up the mint's server aren't working on any military computers. They may bomb Cleveland tomorrow with these clowns. Jim

 

LJKVETTE... you are the man..I called the mint to verify my order on the JM proof Coin and got to place my order for the entire series of USMC coins!!

Finally Got Through To Mint!!

Well, I finally got through to place my order for both the American Legacy and the Marine Corp Coin and Stamp sets, but it took me numerous re-dials and until 2:30 p.m. MDT to get a service rep. I wish I'd had a backorder, so I could have tried option 2 as you suggested (or just did it anyway ).

Now that I've gotten through and given them the orders, whether I ever receive them is another question altogether . Backorders are stretching all the way to Oct. on some of today's new items. Good luck to everyone!!

 

Took me less than a min. to log on and in less than 5 min. I was to the "place order" button. What's all the fuss?? Did I press the "place Order" button?

 

Well, this time I mailed back the paper purchase order form for the USMC coins that the Mint mailed me last week. I sent it back Sunday morning, so hopefully I'll get processed before all the folks who can't get in at all.

 

No problem getting in now.

4. MARINE CORPS SPECIAL SET (COIN (5C3) 2 @ $40.00 - Backordered 08/04/05.

 

I tried for 1 hour at 9AM (PST)and couldn't get further than trying to open my account. Although the "How did we do" survey worked okay but they won't like my answers.

At 1:50PM (PST) I got on no problem but my account still couldn't be opened . I finally ordered 2 proofs under my wife's account .
