Something tells me to send in the penny anyways. In this one that looks to be authentic, it doesn't look like it has the dvb either.

I don't see the dvb on this one.

How about a VDB? If you send yours in, let us know how it goes.

Utterly laughable, and seemingly tied to a fool who wants to be soon separated from his money......

Correct me if I am wrong. But couldn't you just tare something on the scale that weighs 2.18 grams, then take that weight off and put your 3.11- gram 1974 cent on the scale and then take a picture of your 0.93 gram cent on the scale?

That looks like remnants of it to me. And because of the weight being spot on, I'll take that chance with a couple of bucks. I'd be a fool if I didn't. I will post good or bad results. If they're bad, than this could be used as a learning tool.

What the hell are you talking about? Do you know how stupid that sounds? Don't post comments on my stuff anymore. I don't have time for stupidity!

Because of the ignorance of ignorant people on here, this is not the place to post anything and ask questions so you can learn something!

Muzzman, don't get all worked up over someone who is skeptical. I am just saying when posting about a half million dollar coin, it takes more than a picture on a scale to convince me. So convince me you have a genuine aluminum 1974 US minted cent.

Chill, some people here might not consider you the paragon of knowledge...

Actually he explained exactly how to fake it so a plated copper cent that weighed 3.11 grams would show on a scale as weighing .93 grams. Not stupid, a good warning that an image on a scale showing the "proper" weight could still be questionable.

It is stupid and I know how much a copper penny weighs. This is aluminum alloy penny. I know about everything you said. Can say what you want, I'm still going to send it in. A few bucks is nothing to me to lose if it isn't the real thing, but if it is, that's a plus.

    I await the results!

Although here on CoinTalk we have gotten used to these posts of obviously fake coins that will get "sent in" (unlikely to even happen)
I don't think a single poster has come back to admit that we were correct.

Best of luck, but don't say we didn't warn you.

Please post the site that offers these coins. It might help someone else from getting screwed by a bunch of crooks.

It took me 2 seconds to realize it was a fake. The real aluminum cents were made to show to members of congress. They were well made and not mushy like the one you posted a picture of. They were made as patterns so there shouldn't be any "errors" like broad struck.

    Muzz,
Do you realize how “You’ve busted me and now I’m going to panic” you’re reaction sounds?

Here's an important lesson for you, @Muzzman just because you say it's "authentic" doesn't automatically make it so. Most of the coins that you've posted on here are hilariously bad fakes, so don't expect us to indulge your delusions.

Thanks I will let everyone know. Noone on here knows anything about the 74 aluminum penny. Not a one. Why? Because they don't come up enough for anyone on here to know anything about them. Just like with the 43 copper. Noone knows anything about them either. Why I say that? Because they just discovered not long ago that some of them wasn't 95% copper. One had silver in it and under weight and another one with another type of metal mix. They tried many different mix of metal at that time. I have one of them also. I sent it out to ICG and it came back 88% copper and they said it was questionable. I sent it in before the different mixes was discovered. ICG isn't that good of a company yet. So I'll send it in to a different one and see what they say. But I sure will let all know. There's no shame on my part. I'm a true man. When I'm wrong, I admit it. Stay safe out in this crazy world.

I didn't say it was authentic once! So I don't know where you read that! You're a very negative person. Have a nice day and please don't comment on anything I post anymore. Just keep moving!
