    Hello.

I would like to know which auctions you prefer.I am new to the auction route. I assume some are better or more reliable.

I was looking at one going on today.

If you are interested in higher quality material than go to Heritage or Stacks. Great Collections is good to. There are a number of great auction houses in the United States. Pick the one you like. It really comes down to what your trying to buy. If you want only cheap coins then I guess EBAY is where you should look. However, be aware there are a lot of scammers on EBAY. Check the dealer out before you bid. Also make sure you know where they are dealing from. If your looking for only US coins don't bid on any from outside the country. There is a big wave of counterfeit coins being sold from CHINA. Also don't trust feed back or reviews on any questionable site. They usually are bogus. Stay away from any deal that sounds to good to be true.

...Only that, @Mammothtooth, I was on your page, not too many years ago.
One vitally important option that you get is to correspond with the dealers involved, regardless of the auction platform.
If they write back, you'll get more, at least on the level of (potentially valuable) 'vibage,' regarding their level of engagement with you, as an individual, potential buyer.
...And, Yes, in this sort of context, Google Translate is very, may I say, Emphatically legal. ...Just, Always, Do the 'retranslate' function, to make sure you're not saying something embarrassing!

Is it the same if you're wanting to sell...with any of the bigger names it pretty much doesn't matter...? Obviously do your homework, but are any of them charging/taking less than 30 percent...? Heck, even some of the local rural auctions are there, now...time flies, hard to believe.

I used to like Heritage, but then they started charging state tax (7%) and their shipping charges are outrageous so I quit bidding in their auctions.

I like Great Collections and have made a number of purchases from them. Maybe a few more than I should have over the last year. But, heck, it's a hobby.
