    Anyone know what this is?

    I've had this in a pile of coins from 50 years ago.

    Chop marks are actually punched into a coin...

    Those have been clipped or shaved...mutilated

    Wondering if OP's coin shows a planchet error - would not mind taking a closer look at the edge/side of that coin.
