May be there's a die clash; may be not. What we are talking about now is the possible DDO and the DDR at the same time in a single coin. (This Reverse and Oberse are from the same Lincoln). Thank again for your time.
Joe, Did Carlos send you this pictures of the coin that you posted? I ask because from what I can tell, the coin that you posted with the doubling and neither of the original subject coins are the same coins! I will agree that the last coin that Carlos has provided pictures of does appear to be a DDO and possibly a DDR as well. There is a definite doubled cheek below Lincoln's eye, a doubled eyelid and the appearance of Split Serifs on some of the lettering on the Obverse and what appears to be possible Spilt Serifs on some of the Reverse lettering. I will agree with the others, that the areas that Carlos circled on the original subject coins, are only water spots and/or Die Dots but I can see no indication of the doubling on them that can be seen on the last coin! I hope that Carlos has found a new Doubled Die Obverse and possibly combined with a new Doubled Die Reverse Variety! Frank
Huntsman53 Joe coin looks very muck like the one he mail me photos last week. and Coin World john Wexler also list that DDO on LP-1 Lincoln
Congrats Carlos I think you have a winner I;m very happy for you and if you still want to send me the coin to confirm it. . I will gladly do it for you PM me when you decide OKCongrats Carlos Joe
It depends on which way you flip it. It's 180 degrees opposite or if you flip it from side to side it will be upside down, if you flip it from looking at it head to bust it will be right side up. Hope that makes sense. And Welcome :hail:to the forum.
Thank Joe, thank Jello, thank Frank. My principal problem is "in taking pictures". In this post, the 1st and 2nd images of the beginning, are from the same coin of these last four images. Frank, I'll will see you sunday at the show any way (Hope you'r coming). Thank again every body.
You could post it if you follow what im saying Take the coin and photo the obverse the normal way right side up flip the coin over the rotation will show if it;s a rotated die Then pgotograph the coin with the obverse and the reverse rotation an we can determine what degress it is if it;s a rotated die and don't touch the coin with you thumbs either only the rims when you flip it over not the fields Here's an example of what I mean. Here is the only 2009 cent I have found in change. and it maybe a DDO? Check out liberty?????besides the Bu roll I got in February 09 Is my eye or do the letter in Liberty look smaller lib & larger thur erty???
I don't see any differance in the letters Jello i don't really see any indications of a doubled die I see something on the Y but it apears to be a well placed die chip. The letters are hard to see from the pics to jello. JC Jazzcoins Joe
Jc In hand to me the fount of the letter in LIBERTY change in size.just a little manly erty and yes that maybe a chip on the Y or doubling like the 2006-P had??????:kewl:
Anything is possible with these 2009 cents with all these new varities being discovered the double die world has returned even in the statehood quarters. The Jazz Eliington reverse quarter great seperation ,and thank Mister Ellington for that one the Jazz world. Jazzcoins Joe and a Jazz muscian
Jello, the trick-y-trick is in the picture. Before I has this one good I took 20 more in different positions. Seem like the Mint was very generous to me this time, because in a single shipment they sent me 2 different types of DDO and one type of DDR. This one is the second coin of this post Oberse and reverse, and... judge by yourself. Thank again every body for your help and time.
