Has anyone figured out why everything ordered from the mint is backordered? Are they just under-estimating the demand/sale of every product they make? It seems to me that if you don't order the first day something is offered, your order is backordered. How can they keep doing this on every product? I just wondered, because it is beyond me. I also wonder why they keep changing the shipping date on orders by a one day advance every day. Have they now begun to backorder their backorder date? My order for uncirculated mint sets has be backorderd one additional day every day for two the last two weeks. Thanks, Jim
I'm in the same boat. The Mint has now put "Reserved and in process" on my order. I had sent one back that had a lot of bag marks on all the coins so I made my own predicament. I think that the new 'satin finish' is turning out to be a problem for them to get it right. I have not seen a graded set higher than MS67 so I think that their quality control is having a hard time. Just my 2 cents worth.
Mine was delayed by about 3 weeks, I ordered my silver proof set at the same time and it got here right away. They must have underestimated the popularity of the mint sets this year. I finally ordered my buffalo nickels the other day and they are also backordered. The mint must really be getting a lot of orders or something this year...
2005 US Mint Set expected ship date is 8/15 My "expected" ship date is now 8/15. That date will surely change as the day wears on. I ordered my sets on 7/27. I don't get the (1) day extended date every day checking on my order. Has anyone spoken with any mint employee that can give us a quality answer? I am finding out the people answering the phones seem to tell me anything just to get rid of me. For example, one lady answering the phone told me the mint was making more 2004 Coin & Metal Sets after the mint website posted the message in red print, "Product is not Available." Jim
What I mean is...if u send a coin back 4 replacement, U usually end up w/ someone else's return 4 Ur replacement.
