If it's a proof, then the outer steps on Monticello should be bold, as well as the main steps. I can't tell from the pic.
I believe some of us assumed it to be a MS coin from the title of the thread...1959-P, which I depict as a MS. No need to mention the P if it's a Pf.
Strictly on this photo, 66 or 67, depending on TPG...I find they can differ quite often plus depending on graders/teams, day and time (no Friday late afternoon getaway grades, please) ...and of course full steps may depend on 5 or 6, and again which service.
In my opinion, I don't believe it is a proof, so I did not vote at the top of the post. For GTG with no limits, I'd guess MS63. And that might be a little optimistic. Mainly because of the detail (or lack of) on the obverse.
The coin looks like a colorful PROOF. I don't see any rub; however, Proofs are mostly graded by spots and HAIRLINES and the image is not good enough to see if any of these surface imperfections are present. Since the coin was a gift, she probably gave you a nice coin.
Yep! Just don't call me Shirley! I did say it was my opinion. It seems like you are seeking confirmation of your preconceived notion. And anyone not in lockstep with you does not have a serious viewpoint.
