And Moy runs the Mint so it's his fault, and he was hired by the President so it's HIS fault, and who hired (elected) the President? It must be THEIR fault. So there you have it folks, it is WE the People's fault that his rolls have been sitting for two days in San Antonio and not delivered to him. And as far as I can see Pitney-Bowes doesn't actually handle the shipping at all, just addressing, postage, and possibly choosing which shipping firm to use for a given package. Since there always seem to be complaints no matter who does the actual shipping (UPS, USPS, FedEx etc) I suppose the Mint should just sell the products but make it your responsibility to come pick them up. Then if you don't have them in your hot little hands in a timely manner, it's your own fault.
I have to disagree here buddy.. I once was in a taxi and he couldn't get me to where I needed to go before they closed so its HIS fault. Oh wait, maybe its his bosses fault for hiring him. Or the Taxi company for... NO wait its the fault of Ford Motor Co. because the Taxi was a Crown Victoria. Dang, I should of just had the stupid things shipped. Its Bushes fault. There now I am happy.. :headbang: Ever feel like doing the Hokey Pokey just because?
Furthermore, they may not have had a choice whether to hire Pitney Bowes or not. If PB satisfied bid requirements, and they were the low bid, they might have had to subcontract to them. Unless we know otherwise, we ought to hold fire.
I not sure you folks understand my post. I was just extending what I saw as the other posters faulty logic. Shipper screwed up but the mint hired the shipper so it's the mints fault. By that same logic it had to be Moys falut because he ran the Mint, and it had to be the presidents fault because he appointed Moy, and it had to be our (the peoples) fault because we elected the president. NO it wasn't any of those peoples fault, it is the fault of the person with the shipping firm who hasn't bothered to deliver it. my post was to show that it is silly to keep passing the buck. No I really don't think it is Moy's fault that his two rolls are still sitting at the shippers office and haven't been delivered.
Yep, and maybe if they didn't hire that certain shipper, we wouldn't even be having this conversation about rolls, and who knows, maybe people would have got their UHR a heck of a lot earlier as well. All I am saying is, this is one operation with a lot of flaws, that makes us all mad
Quality This demonstrates the value of marketing and PR. If by "defective" we mean "bad quality", I would have to place Dell's computers somewhere near a 95% defect rate. I think the mint gets a bit of bad PR in the quality department because its not often folks post "I got a good quality clad proof set!". I've only ever received a couple low-quality items from the mint (the presidential dollar proofs from last year's proof sets are really the only I can recall in recent years)
Would you consider a used Dell in exchange? :mouth: Though I've never returned anything (not even my horrid 2008 Presidential proofs - I should have), the shortened timeframe for returning coins is a definitely kick in the collective groin of the Mint's buyers. Since so many items are delayed in their shipping, they're now not even leaving room for being out of town for a week while the package of spotted, scratched coinage happily counts down its 7 days until it is cemented in to its 'Forever Home'.
LOL Like buying a car... never place an order on a Monday or Friday! Always mid week..... by then most workers at the mint or the shipping service are sober up! Paddy
Is that address correct? This thing reads like an example of "How to Spot a Scam Email". First, an amazing confluence of circumstances leads to the need for you to send a check, then they tell you its a very short time period you have to get it done in. I'm assuming it was real, but you'd think they would have considered that their email reads like it should be addressed by your 12th cousin, the deposed King of Nigeria.
I would bet we would be considering we have already had similar discussions over the crummy service of USPS, UPS, and FedEx. And like I said Pitney-Bowes doesn't do the actual physical shipping. And since you folks don't seem to be too happy with any of those three shippers, who do you suggest? "Two Guys and a Truck"? (Actual company name.) Or should you have to either come get it yourself or arrange you own shipping?
Well my dad goes by the post office, the main post office by the air port everyday, and seriously I'd probably get my products faster doing it that way, rather then have them ship to us.
It turned out to be from the mint. They charged my account (without my permission) for the item (unc Lincoln commem). These guys are really out there
well I will give it to the mint, they sent me my unc Lincoln for about $33 (they go for $70 to $80 on Ebay). The coin is NOT defective also, not spots, nice coin.
