Purchased raw, on a whim, for type. I welcome grade opinions, conventional and EAC, and attributions (flip says S-241) Thanks in advance, my friends (I will be absent for a few days, so please don't wonder about my lack of response).
I'd say F. Might have gone VF if not for the rims. Very nice coin with some great remaining detail. Guy~
I would say VG10 with rim damage. I also believe it is a S-241 - briefly checked and it mentions the half S under second S in states.
it's unfortunate the coin has sever Rim damage as previously stated it has nice detail. You can't help but get a thrill/chill when holding a coin from that period.
The coin seems to have great details! Has some minor rim damage it looks like, some of the drapery on the bust is visible. The points of wear on the coin, are towards the hair, and "UNITED" and most of "LIBERTY", and the reverse at the bottom of the coin. I think the coin looks great, and my first guess would be Fine. Also, could you provide close pics of the "N" in ONE, it appears to look doubled, or that is how I am seeing it, and I don't know if that is any kind of special variety or anything, I'll let the experts here decide. Very nice coin, a beauty to own, and I would say F12
I like the looks of that coin despite the rim damage. Looks to be retoning from an old cleaning, could use a good soaking in some acetone and retoned. EAC would probably be G-6.
Purdy S-241, Charles! :eat: I also agree that it would grade around VG and the rim hits aren't too bad but will affect the final grade. Thanks for sharing! hya: Ribbit
Yep, plus the stemless wreath and the double fraction bar. It couldn't say S-241 any louder if it was stamped into it.
