Black Eagle Silver Ceritificate Serial # question

    Can anyone tell me what this symbol means after the serial number? Is it the equivalent of a Star Note? BlackEagle.jpg

    I believe what you're referring to is purely ornamental. However, I could be wrong. Regardless, @SteveInTampa should be able to shed some light on its meaning, assuming I'm wrong.

    Edit: For the record, I was wrong with my assumption in my initial post. Nonethelss, I ended up learning something I didn't already know myself.

    It's essentially a placeholder for if they ever decided to expand serial number ranges
