Just traded up for the following: 1628 Paris of Londron (1619-1653) Consecration of the Salzburg Cathedral - Half Taler Probst 1167 1701 Leopold I (1657-1705) "The Hogmouth" Taler - DAV 1003 1713 Charles VI (1711-1740) Taler - DAV 1051
What's with the jawline on that first one? Geez, looks like someone punched him mighty hard. Beautiful coins, congrats!
Outstanding examples, to be sure! Truly magnificent. The forward jutting jawline is a minor genetic anamoly called a "Hapsburg Jaw" appropriately enough. Once you know it, you can see it every now and then, only not nearly so pronounced as in Leopold's case.
The Salzburg Cathedral piece is gorgeous. The other two, well, I'm not really into Habsburg portraits but they still are well done and well preserved. Christian
