HAHA WOW Forgot to post link: http://cgi.ebay.com/1858-O-Seated-L...ms=65:1|66:2|39:1|240:1318|301:0|293:9|294:50
For a starting bid, I think that is awfully high. I wouldn't expect it to get much if any higher. If Numismedia says $390 than they are way too high, I couldn't see it being worth more than $300 in AU-50.
I think it's somewhat attractive. But it looks as if it might be the result of a dipping and re-toning - just a guess on that. Also, the minimum bid seems a bit on the high side.
For this coin I took a quick look at the Coin Dealer Newsletter, which lists it at $225 in AU. If you don't already use the Heritage auction archives, I'd suggest you sign up with them to be able to do so - it's free and a wonderful resource.

I agree, Heritage archives are a great free resource to check pricing. As far as the coin as Mark said it does have that re-toned look, the toning around the stars is inconsistent.
The coin looks to have been cleaned at one time, and toned rather nicely! If numismedia is $390, and it sold for $276, and you check heritage auctions archives, and see what the last one sold for, and compare them, I think you will find the info in which you need. IMO, the price paid for the coin was very fair, and I think even I would have bid
