my cameras battery died or i could have made it farther than two feet down the hall......but i love spending my afternoons polishing coins. that particular coin come from a place similar to the franklin mint, in that case.
Well good luck selling them, if the time comes... You'll see that a coin with some gunk, that is original will sell better to a buyer who knows what he is doing, as he won't buy the polished one. But I am sure somebody will pay polished coins, even if you didn't say they had been polished. There is a rule in coin collecting, and it is NEVER a good idea to POLISH your coins
Charmy- I hope it's a 66+. Some amazing coins. The SBA is quite interesting and beautiful and the 64 nickel. Idhair has some sweet ones. I love the walker and the off-center Merc. I wish I had some good photos. I have some toned nickels but no photos yet. Maybe I'll take some photos but they are raw.
Wow Doug- your playing! Your previous coins we assume, unless you kept a stash. LEJ- don't be offended about the polished coins. I believe you said you inherited your coins and therefore you need to know what you have. The previous post you have of coins were HOBO pointed out they were polished. Trust us they definitely were. Your Morgan in top pic needs clearer pic. Make sure you use digital macros if thats a digital camera. The morgan looks polished as well, but most of the coins in the albums look good but we need better pics. This section is for proofs that are toned.
sorry for vandalizing this thread..i started one on the subject. even if it were polished the first morgan is toned.
You are in no way vandalizing this thread, but this thread was for toned proofs, and your coin is polished not proof, there is a difference
Don't get mad, but 90% of the time I see those hanging coin displays the coins have been polished or cleaned. Even with the poor picture, I can tell some of those have been cleaned.
