What's going on with this Peace dollar?

    Have you noticed that fingers are flexible and will tend to conform to the surface they are pressed against?

    I guess with a question like that I should have expected a smart alex remark. :goofer: Looking at the upper left and rightmost red circle, why would there not be any fingerprint marks on the raised areas? Wear maybe? Just trying to understand a little better.

    That would be my guess as this is basically toning and it is missing from the highest points of the design.

    That's not toning look at the reverse of the coin it's there too as I said ealrier it's finger prints

    Joe, I originally stated that these are indeed fingerprints. They are toning and that is what is making them visible.
