It would take an organized effort to take them down, and then there would be another to take their place. Like playing whack-a-mole.

If ebay has eliminated ways to contact auction winners, then the only recourse left is to become the auction winner and scream bloody murder when you "discover" you've been duped.

 

I think there should be a mandatory check of all commonly counterfeited coins, by some group of experts, before the listing is approved.

 

But then Flea-bay might lose a dollar , and we can't have that can we .:headbang:

I am sick of Ebay, Some of the coins I reported they shut down, but the majority they just let run to the finish and people got hosed big time. I realize the job is monumental to check for real coins, but I cant believe that people buy like they do.

I guess the coin channels on TV are proof of that. People pay WAY overprice for stuff they can get commonly at their local coin dealer. At least the TV stuff is real.....

I looked at that coin just now (1800), looks like on the reverse letters (E. Pluribus unum) that they used a different font for one. And the wing is not touching the A. The U in United doesn't line up with the bottom arrow in the eagles talon.

I am learning or trying to.. are these mistakes I've pointed out correct?

You cant see the winner anymore, the user name is anonomous. So you cant warn them. Ebay is great.
I am done with them, i will just watch Heritage and the other places form now on...

 

Not to mention the eagles head, the wings and a few other things seem odd.
