    Here's my take on this:

Seller opened an account on June 2.

Seller listed this on June 12.

    Pic is dated June 12.

While you can't see dates or mint marks or condition of coins, they appear to be authentic so other than only a Bidiot would bid on such an auction, I don't see anything wrong (besides saying one coin is MS-65 and none are slabbed, which violates Ebay's listing policy).

    Scam? I don't think so!

Seller ignorant/stupid? Without a doubt! :goofer:

In my opinion yes - one picture and you really can not tell anything.

Hm..well an 1880 MS is still worth over 170, even if its not at MS65 alone something doesn't seem right to me, i would bet the coins are fake..

Even if you pay $180.00 there are 23 Morgans, that's $7.83ea

Sorry, toad, but putting a numerical grade in the description does NOT violate eBay policy - slabbed or not. eBay policy =

$34 for shipping?? That is whack...

    Another whack thing...

Where is he gettin 1880 CC MS65 from??? You can't tell the grade of any of those, and I bet out of all those, 3 or 4 are actually BU's the rest are VF-AU AT BEST.

It is a rather interesting price it sold for, as I am surprised some idiot didn't bid it up to $500 or $600 or even more
Notice he is a new ebay member, gives no close pics, no description, and really no info about shipping, or anything else for that matter.

    HE IS INSANE...
And we can give him the therapy he needs...
    NOT!

    SCAMMER ALERT

It's another Ebay crapshoot. There's about a 75% that it is a scam and 25% chance that the guy just doesn't know what he has. It's a pretty sure bet the coins will turn out to be cleaned and/or damaged, and worn more than he indicates. The question is whether there really are CC morgans in there and if they are genuine.

There's no way to tell. Do you feel lucky? Well do you, p...?

Those could just as easily be pot metal fakes, you can't tell anything from the photo. O fb seller-- just asking for trouble, imo.

Heh, I love how it was a a big deal two years ago when ebay changed their certified coin listing policy. Note which service - and I use that term loosely - isn't on the list but you still see coins on ebay in its slabs with a grade rating in the title. They're there every day and no matter how many people bring it to ebay's attention, they do nothing about it.

Everything on ebay is a crapshoot, and with coins doubly so. Be very careful and don't spend anything you can't afford to lose.

There are current 3 listings that fit that description and by 2 different sellers. :goof: But if you search "perfect proof" or "perfect mint state" you will find hundreds more and the use of that terminology should not be allowed, since the only thing it means is MS-70/PF-70 and a numerical grade is not allowed in the title of those but those words mean the same thing. And like you said, Ebay won't do anything about them. :goof:

    Well said! :thumb:
