I meant to say from the photo supplied I would hope so. I corrected previous comment, earlier. Mt typing and brain were not in sync this morning.

I just got the word that PCGS slabbed this coin MS64. Which means it really is an MS65! :)

Are you okay with the grade, or will you crack it out and send it into another TPG?

Its pointless, if NGC gives it an MS65 then people will still value it at PCGS MS64 money. I could resubmit and eventually probably get it into the slab it deserves, but by then I spend all the money that seperates the two grades! Its a big jump in price between 64 amd 65 and that is why unless you are one of the big companies like Heritage, they wont give you the higher market grades it seems.

    Ahh I see!
Well to be honest, I am glad you gave the answer you did!
It would be a waste of money just to "see" what NGC would "say"
Congrats on your coin, it makes me drool ;)

Ithink the reason they gave it a 64 was because there are so many nice 1922s and the large jump in price between grades , don't get me wrong your coin would market grade a 65 if it was a different date .

WOW! I would have said MS-65 without a doubt. That sucks but congrads on the coin. It is beautiful.

It is a pretty coin, sure it could get a 65. Those marks on the neck are a consideration though. I want to see what GD says (he is a tough cookie).

Great luster and detail. No major flaws that I see. Should go a 65 or better

Once matchmaker stated that the coin had outstanding luster, I thought it would be a lock for MS65. If PCGS graded the coin MS64, then those two marks on the neck must be the grade limiting marks. There really isn't anything else holding this coin back. It is not uncommon to see a coin with one major mark in a focal area still get a gem grade, but two must be too much for PCGS.

I think your coin is cleaner than my 1922-D NGC MS65 (Old Fatty). Mine has two significant marks on the neck, just like yours.

I think PCGS has it right. Besides the marks on the neck, there are some rim dings and some smaller field marks. That doesn't mean it isn't a nice coin, just that is how PCGS grades these. JMHO.
