As promised here are some pictures of some of my San Marino 5 and 10 Euro coins. I apologize regarding the quality of the pictures. My camera is just a point and shoot camera, and does not really take good close up pics, but you get the idea.

Beautiful coins! It would be nice to have a complete set of the Euro issues.

And don't be shy regarding the quality of your photos. :) A little dark maybe, but for this particular purpose that actually works best - it shows the difference betwen the matte and the shiny parts of the designs very well.

By the way, those three towers etc. are elements from the arms of San Marino. The country's CoA features three mountains, three towers and three ostrich feathers. Now you may not find all elements on every coin, but if the feathers are used, it's always three feathers, if towers are displayed, you'll see three towers, and ... well, you get the idea, hehe.

They are all San Marino Coins. By the way: Groetjes vanuit Minnesota! Ik ben ook een Nederlander, maar woon hier in de VS sinds 1991!

Going back to the Rose coins, when I was looking at the picture of the 10 euro coin, all of a sudden I noticed there is a baby (or a cherub) laying on top of the flower. I had never noticed that until I looked at a larger image of it, so I thought that was funny.

Actually San Marino also issues "scudi" denominated coins: 2 scudi, 5 scudi. Those are gold pieces and can (theoretically  ) be used for payments in the country too.

Actually, if you buy them directly from the San Marino Mint http://www.aasfn.sm/english/english.htm (click on Numismatic down below) they are not too bad. Actually if you buy the 2 Euro coin (they sell it for 11 Euro, you can sell it on ebay for over $ 50 - 70.

I also found some of the 5 and 10 Euro coins on ebay for under $ 25. I hate to admit, but the first two (Year 2002) I bought on ebay for $ 100 for the pair, but you rarely see that year for sale, and as I wanted to get a complet set I had to get them. The only ones I am still missing are 2003 and 2004.
