Here's an Israel coin A rotated die 180 degrees CW reverse rotated die/I really dont' know the date on this coin ,but i think it's a sixties coin. I don't know the value on this error especially when it come to foriegn ones o fthis type. I do think it's a rare one though any assistence on the subject will help me greatly Thanks JC Formerly jazzcoins Joe
Your coin says 5722 (1962) but Krause doesn't show a different alignment. All it shows are small and large date. For 5723 (1963) there are different alignments (i.e. coin and medal rotation). Is yours a coin alignment?
Well thanks for your help with the date issue The coin is definetly a rotated die could be very rare if it's not listed in the krause book for no alignment for that year, maybe I have something here. JC
Hello JC, #1 Are you saying that your Israel coin has something other than 0-degrees or 180-degree alignment? #2 I haven't actually done a count. However, my experience has been that the majority of my world coins are medal alignment. I have one set of books that includes one coin from each country 1800-date. I'll count how many are medal & how many are coin alignment & let you know the ratio of medal-to-coin alignment. Very best regards, collect89
Yes my coin is a rotated die 180 degress Cw the highest degree possible I have serveral rotated dies. There's a site that I went to ,and it has the same year with a 180 degree reverse rotation. The site is called Israel coins. The coin is listed as a 1 Lira rotated die, but it doesn't give the date of the coin. I looked at my coin at the symbols and matched it up with the one on the site and they were both 1962 dates I will try and post the web page link soon. Thanks guys JC Thanks JC FormerlyJazzcoins Joe
Hmm. The coins from Israel that I have in my collection all have the common alignment for coins, ie. what in the US is called "medal" alignment. I may be wrong but I don't think that coin is rare or exceptional ... Christian
