1872 dollar I can't tell, but you might want to compare it to the fake dollar I have...interesting to look at. I have two fakes of 1795 dollars too. My dad had them. I gave my twin son's each one of them..
Sure looks fake to me, but I'm not familiar with this coinage. I think the square is a chopmark. Weak details on the ribbon of the motto. But that may be normal on geniune specimens...the thing is I'm just not 100% sure what a geniune specimen would look like on this paticular series.
Well I dont know anything about this type of coin but the guy does have nearly 7000 positives to 2 neg and 1 neutral in the feedback dept so if he is selling fakes then he is good at it.
Yes the square is part of the banner. The picture is to bad to see any casting marks on either side of the coin when I enlarge it. I would be a little cautious buying this one on Ebay even at that price.
