I reciently noticed that I have been trying and trying to get more change after purchases. Instead of paying with exact change on somthing that is like 3 cents over a dollar, I will pay with bills just to get more change to look at. I will wait around for the 1 or 2 cents that the cashiers sometimes forget to payback. I get upset when the cashiers take a penny out of the free cents just so they can hand a dollar bill back. I have even put a five or a twenty in a vending machine just to get my candy bar and a bunch of change.

some ideas: buy 'customer wrapped' coins from your bank so you are sure to get a mix instead of new rolls, lest you want those... do your laundry at a coin op... ask to exchange your small bills for coins at tip jars... take a part time job in a place that typically has a tip jar where you can work the register and have access to the coins in the jar or going through the till.

I also go to the bank and get like 50 to 100 in wrapped every 2 weeks.
    Several nice finds.

With all due respect, I think "customer" wrapped rolls get too much airtime.

Think about it. Here someone emptied out a jar, rolled the coins themselves and then turned them into the bank. Ummmm. You don't think they might keep a wheatie if they find it? Or anything unusual? Just the fact that they kept the coins for awhile shows they're a bit of a packrat.

On the other hand, machine wrapped rolls. A machine cannot distinguish between a wheatie or a 1955 DDO or a regular 1999-D lincoln. You get everything.

Think about it. Chances are the human is going pull more out than the machine!

This is basically true. After checking out the coins, people just roll them and turn them in so your looking at something that has already been checked.

Hello Ray.....Congratulations you have now completed step#1 in the 12 step program
Step #2 Would be to send me all of your coins to prevent temptations and run the risk of falling back into the pit of self-pity and denial. ...lol
