    Hi everyone:

I am new to Coin Chat (though I have been buying and selling coins for more than 30 years!!).

Unfortunately, my brick and mortar business is not doing well. I was hoping to find coin shows in and around the mid-Missouri area. Searching the Web was not helpful.

Does anyone know of coin shows in my area?

    Thanks for your help.

    Ed,

I don't know of any, but there are a few coin show websites out there.

After being so long in the business, don't you belong to a coin club? If not, it might be a good idea to join one. Even if you're not interested in joining (I know it's not for everybody), you should contact a coin club in your area. They're sure to know about shows.

    In the meantime, check out:

    Good luck!

Here, click this link : http://www.cointalk.com/forum/t50302/

I'm hoping to meet some coin talkers there. There will be another show there in October. There are about 150 dealers at these shows. Then there are monthly shows in Kansas City with (I think) 30 or 40 dealers. But I haven't been to one of those before. Occasionally I here of a show in Springfield. I don't remember ever hearing of a show in Columbia or Jefferson City. Where are you located?

    Thanks for all the information.

I will check out the web sites.

To my knowledge, there is no coin club in Jefferson City though if someone is aware of one, I am willing to get involved.

It is nice to have knowledgeable people to talk coins with (my wife has never been interested!!).

Oh, and I almost forgot, welcome to the forum! It has really made my collecting experience better having the folks here to discuss coins with. And, by the way, I am about 45 minutes northeast of Columbia, MO.

You may want to just to to Google or Yahoo and type in coin shows and your state. Then too try other states you can make it to. There are coin show listings all over the place and some do not show all the possible shows in your area. As an example for some reason one that is consistant and is occatioinally left off is the Countryside show in Illinois. You also may want to check out coin clubs. Many of them have small coin shows that do not make it to the internet listings such as the ones mentioned here already. If your in a traveling mood, in Illinois there are coin shows almost every weekend in the near Chicago area. There is a coin show on the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th Sunday of every Month, all year long including holidays. Largest one is in Countryside, Illinois of about 80 to 100 or more dealers. Also, occationally really large ones at the Rosemont Convention Center and the Crown Plaza Hotel accross the street from Convention Center.
Other coin shows are in the Southern areas of Illinois as well. Takes a little research at times to find them all but lots of them here all the time.

Forgot a few. SInce your in Missouri, you may want to check out the coin shows in Sprinfield, Tinley Park, Collensville and Bloominton. Again try just Google for Coin shows in states like yours and Illinois.
Really big one coming up soon at the Rosemont area. It's the 27th Annual Mid America Coin Expo.
